What is the most common 'firstname lastname' in the USA?

I can find lots of stats on the popularity of either first names or last names but what about the most popular firstname lastname?

John Smith?

I don't think that just because the most common first name is James and the most common last name is Smith that the most common name is James Smith.

Of course I could be wrong...my statistics professor would be so proud of me.

wow, I would have never guessed that Dorothy would be a top 10 name for women. Especially considering I've never met anyone under 50 with that name

Well, you're probably right. These are statistics for everybody, not just new babies. I don't think 'Patricia' is the third most popular name for babies born in 2006 anymore.

shens on the list.

sarah isn't listed in top 20 or whatever for female names.

There's always several sarah's.

I can't ever recall a time I've seen a betty or a ruth or a carol.

Elizabeth? Ruth is a dying name, but there are still Carols out there.

I'm assuming that by now the most common name in the US is something like Shaquireah-Latifa Smith.
