What is the most comfortable and durable blue jeans??

I've been wearing Eddie Bauer relaxed fit jeans for probably a bit over 10 years now. So, I go to EB today to buy a new pair only to find that they have totally re-designed the jeans. I asked the sales lady WTF happened to the jeans?? She said they were re-designed to have a more updated look. They look like women's jeans to me and they want $49 + tax for them?? I said that the material seems to be much thinner also - she replied that they "are a more summery material". Summery, great, just what I was looking for in my jeans. I am sure the original Mr. Bauer is cringing - more summery and updated look??!! I thought Eddie Bauer was supposed to sell rugged stuff, well at least they used to.

Oh well, guess I need to switch brands. Any suggestions??

Get Levi's jeans.. They keep getting cheaper and cheaper. And, IMO, they're the only real jeans anyway.

Levi's Silvertab Baggy = most comfortable jeans ever
Levi's Relaxed Fit = best looking

And, even though Levi's don't use as thick denim as many designer jeans, their denim lasts longer. Oh ya, they were one of the last clothing companies to finally close its US factories.

OK, now I'm picturing chicks in high school in the 80's - the ones who had to jump up and down and use a jack hammer to get into their jeans.

Getting confirmation from the Mrs...... yup Wranglers were big then. :)

I'm addicted to diesel jeans now. I had old favourite pairs of levis that I swore I would always wear, but I bought a pair of diesel ZAFs and dayum are they ever good jeans.

I got pants at express the other day.....my first pair from express...I just want to know why they made the crotch area so tight.....off to return them tomorrow.

I have nothing against Gap, AE, Abercrombie, Aeropostal, etc.

I have a problem with Express.

Did you ever shop at Structure? Structure was, far and away, the best clothing store on the market. To watch the slow, painful gayification process to Express...it was one of the worst experiences of my life.

I knew there was something wring when I saw some very fruity ties....but i needed a black pair of pants and it only cost $15. I will never shop there agin.

I'll have to go try some Silvertab Baggies. The last time I bought a pair of Levi's they were stonewashed buttonfly jeans :)

I did buy a pair of the new relaxed fit EB's. I laid them side by side with an old pair and tried them on for the Mrs. It's a definite no go. The material has got to be at least 50% thinner if not more. WTF were they thinking??!! Oh well, I'll return them and probably never set foot in their store again. Just another example of the Wussification of America!! :(
