All the substance abusers I know claim meth is the most addictive, course they all drink and smoke too, but they are always jonesing for meth even years after they quit.

Quit is a funny word though, because when it comes to meth, its more like a break for them.

Are you sure you don't mean math. Addition and subtraction is wild, crazy fun. 😉

I was gonna say 'love', then I thought 'nah, too obvious, someone would have said that already'...I forgot what forum this is, obviously.

-That's funny cause chemically speaking "love" is pretty much heroin, only your brain makes it naturally.

Title says it all. Are there any drugs that can get you hooked after using it the first time? Make you crave it like nothing else?

depends on if you're an addict or not. non-addicts dont take drugs and get addicted and crave them.

Chemically, heroin is more like cuddling. It's the same as endorphins which is released when you touch yourself at night, or when you go run laps, or if you get your arm blown off.

Love is more involved with oxytocin(also released during cuddling to produce feelings of bonding and trust. Phenyletylamine is also a love chemical, and it's basically our body's endogenous amphetamine. So this is analgous to adderall. MDMA, or Ecstasy, like amphetamine, is also analagous to this phenylethylamine. It's also found in chocolate, hence girls seem to especially like to get this from guys. 😉

Of all the drugs i have tried i would have to say coke(not crack, never tried crack) for sure was the most addicting. I know people who's lives it has ruined, seen them go through hell and back and some of them still use. I do however consider them pretty weak willed, i had no issues quitting and i used almost daily for 2 years, sure it sucked for a few months and being around users on a daily basis sucked but was not the end of the world.

Caffeine has got be in the mix somewhere. Not in the top 5 maybe. But probably in the top 10-15.

Nicotine has to be in the top 5.

I would guess no. The people who said things like heroin hook you after 1 time are the same fucks who told us cigarettes would get you hooked after 1 time. I can't believe they would lie to kids like that.

For me the most addictive drug is adrenaline. Adrenaline makes every hair on your body feel good.
wtf? Adrenaline is what causes "butterflies" in your stomach and most people describe that as a negative feeling.

There was an L&R thread that had a video with a lady talking about her research with people who are in love. She described it as being a lot more like the reaction people have with cocaine. High dopamine and low serotonin, their energy levels are high and their behavior is compulsive. They stay awake all night thinking about someone.
That sounds horrible, but people seem to like this feeling 🙂

It's gotta be close to the top 5.

Nicotine
Caffeine
Coke
Opiates
Meth

That's my list in no specific order.

The most addicting drug is the one that trips your trigger.

IDK of any drug that's physically addictive at first try but I have seen a few people completely change emotionally after a first experience and physical addiction usually isn't far behind.

It's unfortunate that US drug education has been based on false scare tactics.

Many of us that were "educated" about drugs in the 50s-70s found first hand that marijuana wasn't the evil weed that caused raping/pillaging/unknown horrors and disbelieved anything else that the govt. had to say.

Caffeine can fairly quickly induce neurological changes that would then produce withdrawal effects, but I think one would also have to factor in the severity of said withdrawal effects...which for caffeine are generally fairly mild, and usually just include headache and disrupted concentration for a day or two.

Yeah, I think the only way caffeine can make the list is if you discount the very light withdrawal symptoms and take into account the ease of consumption (i.e. all day long in public rather than only in private).
