I say the meaning of life is whatever you make of it. Whatever religion you are, always live life to the fullest. There might not be an afterlife. All we could be are just intelligent animals. We humans have been lucky enough to invent computers, cars, and a whole mess of stuff. But now its up to us to live life to the fullest, or your meaning of life will cease to exist because the meaning of life is different for everyone...

There was no 'cause', no reason why the Universe came to existance, so life has no meaning.

...unless we manage to become immortal and reach such a high state of technological development that we can either manage to survive in this dying universe or leave it to reach/create another universe we can inhabite.
