What is the meaning of A 1

On a windows 7 desktop HP computer when booting up the symbols "A 1 ↓" appear in the lower right of the monitor just as the icons appear on the desk top. They only last about 5 seconds and then are gone.
I have other computers and never see these symbols.

Could this be a virus or trojan of some type?

I've never seen that. Under what circumstances does that appear? I have the least Windows time on Win7. Is it new to that?

OP probably has a multimedia keyboard with software that loads on start-up and displays the status info.
