I ordered a new motherboard (810 chipset) and am wondering what the fastest celeron processor I can use with it is. It says 533, but for p3 it says up to 800 or so. I would guess they said fastest processor is 533 because this was before fcpga celerons that run a 100fsb.

Here is a link to some info on the board:
LINK (Goto desktops, motherboard, GS810 "Great Smokey") Sorry couldnt link directally, menu is in frames.

I think a faster celeron will work, but I dont want to buy one if it dosent. Can anyone help me by confirming anything please.

Thank you
Garrett.

They are pretty specific in their pages and in their manual about the max Cely speed.
I think I'd try e-mail with their tech support and get some kind of confirmation before
buying a CPU they aren't saying will work.

I don't see why you could not run at up to an 800 Celeron if not higher. Wonder what support lays in BIOS update 5 found here ?

I would be worried about 133fsb PIII's on 810 (early revisions were only 66 or 100fsb), but your board should take any 100fsb non-Tualatin CPU (including Celeron's up to 1.1Ghz and P3's up to 1GHz as well) because Intel's CPU's are Multiplier locked now so that's not an issue.

I wondered about the bios update too. It had no documentation with it though, so I have no idea what it does.

I dont even care if the 133fsb cpus work. I dont expect them to either. I had thought a 100fsb celeron would work, but I am still not sure. I think I will just play it safe and find a ppga.
