I have a 1660 Super that has a DVI port, HDMI port and a DVI port. I am using all 3 ports in a triple monitor setup. I am replacing my 27" 1080p with a 31.5" 1440p monitor. I have two 1440p 144hz and 165hz gaming monitors as well. I guess it doesn't matter but from my research the maximum refresh rate @ 1440p appears to be 100hz. I currently use a HDMI 2.0 cable that does 1440P @ 144hz. I use the display port on my 165hz 1440P monitor.

I just want to know what to expect from my DVI-D connection on the 144hz monitor. I do not game on it so 75hz or greater is fine. Just curious what the max refresh rate is with DVI-D @ 1440p.

I think 100hz at 1440p is about all you can expect, and even that isn't a guarentee.

Though i seem to remember some old korean monitors doing 1440p120hz with DVI, that was at the limit of the hardware and I wouldn't expect more than 100hz.

I know it's sad that I am still using DVI in 2021. Times are tough for graphics cards. The 1660 Super I got had a DP, HDMI and DVI-D connection. I ordered a 15FT DVI-D cable. My 27" IPS 1080P is using the DVI-D connection right now. But the new 1440p monitor has only DP and HDMI connections. My 1440p 144hz has a DVI-D connection on the other side of the desk. It doesn't really matter but I will update the thread on how many hz my refresh rate will do with a DVI-D cable. When I get a new graphics card, I can do away with the DVI-D connections. With how this 1660 super performs. It may be a year or two. I really like the 1660S for a POS card.

On such a long cable I'd expect some performance degradation. I remember people complaining that longer cables wouldn't work at higher resolutions and refresh rates, so if you're having issues and you can swing it, a shorter length cable might help.

It doesn't matter much to me. The 144hz monitor is never used for gaming. I have a 1440p 165hz in the middle using Display Port. I may plug the short cable in to see if I don't get 100hz out of the new cable. I was going to go with a 10ft cable but with the desk arm and the current 10ft HDMI cable being stretched a bit. I figured 15ft give me more flexibility. I have destroyed this desk drilling holes to get a perfect ARC (rounded linear) setup. The new 1440p flat screen is 75hz. The other two are curved screens. The new monitor is for watching my cable TV through the stream app. I will be set for the next 3 or 4 years with these monitors.

It's only good for 75hz. I tried the new cable and the old cable and both max out at 75hz @ 1440p. That will have to do for now. When the GPU market comes back to earth. I will get a new card with 3 display ports. At least now I have 3 monitors with Display Port and HDMI. I think 100hz @ 1440p was a legend or myth.

Pretty much same with me. I still find my 1050 59hrz monitor good enough but after having so many problems in 2019 finding a card with a dvi output I decided it is time to get a new monitor.
Everything got derailed with the current cost of cards.
At least what I have works and I am satisfied with it. Maybe I can ride the ridiculous card prices out.
