My family occasionally reminds me of this time when as a kid we were out camping in a van and I fell out of bed. I was on this skinny bench as a bed and must have rolled off it or something, and the sound of me smacking into the floor woke everyone else up. Apparently the knock of my head into the hard floor was particularly loud.

I slept through the whole thing snoring and all. And only recently have I started wondering if I brained my damage and was suffering a concussion or something...

Every Wednesday morning the garbage truck stops below my bedroom window and empties our mini-dumpster. I sleep through it pretty much every time. When I don't... it's very loud.

in college i would sleep through the dorm fire alarms (when sober). so would my roommate, they had to assign someone to specifically come and wake us up when they went off. they were pretty pissed the first time it happened. but not like we did it on purpose

at this point im pretty sure i could take a nap on a busy airport runway or an active military zone

Probably Hurricane Fran, 1997, as it was tearing ass through the neighborhood and sending trees every which way. Oh wait, that was 96--late summerish 96.

Probably a category 5 earthquake in northern California. I didn't know about it until the next day.

I once fell asleep on a recliner that was in the middle of a room that a band I used to roadie for was actively practicing in. Literally right in the middle, so to each side of me, a drummer, a guitar, a bass, and the vocalist + guitar, fully mic'd and amplified. I was completely sober. It's weird because normally I can't fall asleep at all if music is playing.

Big enough for 2 evidently.

You don't live with anybody who would say, "how the hell did you sleep through that?"
My wife could be deaf, or the hours I sleep and those the wife sleeps could be completely not overlapping. Pleasenty of normal reasons why. Also, the wife could have been out when the loudest thing exceeded that sound I also missed while she was with me. :p

When I was 16 we had a huge storm. I had this giant tree and 6 feet away from my bedroom window. It had like a 6 foot trunk. Apparently The tree blew down and fell across the street at 4 am. The crews showed up at 6 to clear the road. My alarm went off at 7 and woke me up. There were chainsaws and people yelling all over the place . It was crazy.

I would regularly sleep through rough seas and storms when I was in the Navy.

Now I wake up when a pin drops. Freaking homeless and drug addicts are stealing anything that isn't nailed down.

You have no idea how hard it is to be me. Angels singing me to sleep every.freaking.night. Angels are not the quietest servants of God.

And don't get me started on the morning trumpets. :(

I once slept through a hurricane. Woke up the next morning and wondered what had caused all of the damage outside the house.
