hi all

so I was wondering what is the longest you have been going on without stoping you machine. Here counts also NO restart, NO standby, NO hybernation, Online-Offline does not matter. Please do tell also what is your machine (PC or Laptop) and your OS at that time.

here is me:

1 WEEK on a Toshiba Laptop running Win XP Pro :D

PS: long time ago I found a site where there were statistics of computers that have been online for more than an year without stop. If someone knows that site PM or post it here 10x

the htpc i'm posting from now has been up since 2/13/05

the file server has been up for about 7 months or so i think...

the main rig has stayed up for a few months without a reboot, but its been off for the last several weeks...i just don't have the interest i used to have in computers...

EDIT: xp media center 2k5 on the htpc, 2kpro on the server and main rig

I typically go months in between restarts on my system. I would say the longest on my desktop would be about 3 months without a restart, had to restart because of a needed update. My server PCs run even longer since they're running Linux and typically don't have to be restarted to be patched.

This PC is never off, it has to restart for windows and driver updates though.

I think the most ive ever had it up to was 45 days or so.

i hibernate all the time, it's a brilliant invention ;)

but i left my rig running for a three week uni holiday once (just running WASTE ;)) and it was quite happy on my return...

i guess i go a week or two between restarts, just hibernating when i go to class/work or sleep...

A few days maybe. I've always had a habit of turning my computer off.
