9 days, 5 hours. But it involved a sheet of acid, so........Talk about being "out of sorts" afterwards.......

18 hours at most....I haven't even lost serious sleep to jet lag since I snooze onboard. 18 hours: a rather long day (nothing extravagent) 6:00am--12:00am of being awake.

Longest Ive ever stayed awake is just short of 4 days.

My dad had a client who needed his ice machine up and running or else $600,000 in crops would be garbage. Needless to say, my dad collected $130 an hour and I got $10 - LOL lame. Anyways, it was tight. Painful to go that long without sleep, but well worth it - for my pops especially.

Edit: the ice machine referred to above makes 100,000lbs of ice in an hour - not a typical refrigerator/freezer ice machine ;)
Also, that $130 comes out to $11,000. $130x24x3.5 = $10,920.

Around 3 1/2 days (in the army). 40 hours is quite common nowadays, mostly due to insomnia...

85 hours is my longest run.

It was from 9 on a Wednesday morning until 10 or so the following Saturday night. It was right before I went home from school this past Thanksgiving. I didn't really have a good reason to do it, but after not going to sleep on Wednesday, the temptation was to push it as far as I could. I found that as long as I was actively engaged in doing some physical activity, I was fine. But if I ever sat down to think about something that just didn't work for me and body tried hard to make me sleep. I fought back though by playing basketball, running, weight-lifting, etc. My girlfriend helped me out a lot too. ;)

Edit: I felt like it, dammit.

Yeah...after the 1st whole day goes by, it's hard to get yourself back in the sleeping groove...

72 hours without any drug assistance at all... dont even remember why i did it.. but the crappiest part was that once i finally did lay down, i woke up like 3 hours later.. me and some friends are thinking about going for a very very long time over the summer without sleep.. perhaps a week.. it'd be rough tho

<< AIT + Insomnia + 1st week on Ripped Fuel = Approx. 84 hours of awake >>

were you in Ethan Cerami's class last term?

Me...4 days..then **KAPOW!** on the bed and out like a light. But I regularly go weeks on little more than 2 -3 hours a night.

2 occasions come to mind. Once in highschool, for no good reason. After school, I went to work at the grocery store, the I stayed the night at a friend's house where we watched videos, then back to school in the morning, and work again that night. I think it worked out to 41 hours or something. I remember that I didn't get too much sleep that night either, so it was like a 3-1/2 day stretch sepaparated by like 4 hours of sleep or something.

Another time, I drove from Alaska to Oregon in 50 hours. It simply can't be done much faster than that. It was like 2300 miles, and it isn't like it's a long straight interstate highway. The thing isn't even paved in places. It was me and a buddy. I stayed awake with him driving until I finally got tired. I leaned back for like (literally) 90 seconds, and suddenly he pulled over. "I'm tired. It's your turn to drive." Doh! I don't think he put 2 and 2 together and realized that I didn't get to sleep when he was driving.

When we got to my mom's house in Oregon, I slept for 12+ hours.

Continuously, 72 hours, when I had a 3 finals on consecutive days, and a final project due.
I drank 33 liters of mountain due during that time :)
That week, I only slept about 15-20 hours total out of the whole week
