What is the lens set you all recomend getting instead of the one that comes with the Rebel?

A very many people choose the Tamron SP 28-75mm f2.8 XR Di instead of the kit lens. Click on the link for sample images - amazing lens. Must be around $250 - $300 USD? Again, good low light lens and solid construction.

My wife has that one, it's the lens we use the most by far. Her 50mm f/1.4 probably gets the least use, but it is good for portraits.

That's a nice range and fast. Too bad no reviews. After I got the Canon 17-40f4L, I sometimes miss the bit of extra range from the stock lens.
