What is the latest version for Windows XP?

hi, this might sounds like a silly question, but i would like to know what is the latest build for windows xp professional? is there any difference between OEM and Final Retail? or between Professional and Home version? do they all have the same build or version? the one that i have is Version 5.1 build 2600. thx

You have the latest build (2600). The 5.1 just means it's XP (NT version 5.1). The 2600 means it is the final build of XP.

No real difference between OEM and retail unless you have a corporate version which does not have the activation built in ;-)

Home and Pro are the same except Home does not allow multi processors (also I believe it uses FAT32 by default, but you can convert it to NTFS after the install, but I cannot confirm this as I do not have the Home version).

Incorrect. Home uses NTFS only, while Pro lets you choose which to use.

Thanks for the correction HansXP.

Also, according to this thread, it appears that even with NTFS the home edition does not have file security to protect files from other users.
