What is the highest CPU multiplier on an ASUS P4PE mobo?

Why? CPU's locked unless you got an engineering sample. Supports all 400/533 cpus. Until someone with one shows up I would say 26 for the 2.6GHz/400 P4.

Yeah I know it's locked but I was hoping to find out what the maximum speed cpu could be dropped in as it says 3ghz+. 😉 So if its 26 x 133 its likely to be 3.45GHz then.

I have the P4PE and I run the new P42.4C (800MHZ FSB). You have to flash the bios with the new one from Asus. You will also have to run PC3200 RAM also in order to compensate for the higher 200MHz core clock speed. The P4PE handles all the new 3.0GHz+ chips. I had my old 2.4b overclocked to 3.5Ghz, but had to use PC3200 RAM in order to keep it stable.

@REVNU

What BIOS-Version are u using ? (I tried 1005 / 1006Beta1)
I just bought a new 2,6/HT/FSB200 (Corasir PC3200CL2). I can change the FSB to 200 and above (max at 230) but when I try to change the Memory-Frequency, I can only choose AUTO. (so my system crashes because the memory won´t run at the high speeds).
Another question : How were you able to raise the Mhz so much ? (12 * 230 makes 2760 Mhz and not 3500 Mhz)

Thanks for your help !

I have the same problem with my board and RAM. It has AUTO and nothing else. And my system hangs even at 201FSB because of the memory bandwidth. Actually the multiplier on the 2.4b is (18 * ???193 in my case). The C series chip multplier is lowered in order to 12 in order to achieve a 200FSB. Hope this helps. I hope that I will be able to over clock this chip like my old one...
