I never said it was good, honestly, I think they made it to screw with people. Have you ever seen 8mm. If so, around there with those fake snuff films

robo cop. the version that has the parts they took out to make it rated r (instead of x). with the guy getting his arm blown off by a shotgun, and the huge robot pumping like 100 rounds into a guy.

Audition... that was pretty nasty.

Guy get paralyzed by a girl (with a drink) and then she procedes to stick needles in his torso, eyes, and then lops off his feel with a wire she wraps around his ankles and saws back and forth cutting through them bone and all.

I've seen event horizon too, I think Audition was worse.

oh yea, in audition....that crazy chick was always making this "doo doo doo" sound

and when the movie was about to end and the guy was in that wake/dream sequence
and finally fade to credits......that sound raise the hairs on my neck

Great recommendations ppl, I'm going to check out Riki-Ho, Dead Alive, ISOYG and Audition soon. As for the stuff that I've already watched,
- Kill Bill vol.1: the dismantling of Crazy 88 was simply GREAT fun, an instant classic
- Event Horizon: lots of dismemberment but most of the gore came in quick cuts, spoilt by too many cheap shocks
- Passion of the Christ: unflinching shot of the scourging was a difficult watch, dead serious and dead real
- Ichi the Killer: same as Event Horizon, but at least there's some good ol arterial spray

Here we go - the worst one I've seen was not Gates of Hell, but Cannibal Ferox, which was released under hte name Make Them Die Slowly when I saw it on VHS in the early 80s. That was officially the goriest movie I've ever seen, and it must be on the short list of the goriest films ever made.

NICE!

Heh ... that was a pretty crappy movie ... But since I am generally into the whole Gory/B horror style ... I picked up the DVD at deepdiscountdvd a year or two ago. I think Scanners was cooler on the gore facter. Nothin Beats exploding Heads.

And outside of the horror genre, Commando has a cool gory scene (with the rotary saw blade and the arm ....)

hmm ... also that White Zombie movie ... House of 1000 corpses had some pretty gory scenes in it and was pretty consistant.

Also the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness Series and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre were pretty gory too, and all around Awesome movies. (I'd even watch them without the gore!)

There are 2 that come to mind:

Braindead (Dir. Peter Jackson): the ultimate zombie horror evar. Includes the famous 'lawnmower' scene.

Riki-oh (Dir. Ngai Kai Lam): Some totally bonkers Hong Kong horror film. Includes the classic scene of a man disembowling himself inorder to use his intestines as a garrote.

a hell raiser (or whatever the name is movie), i think it had the name "toy maker" in it. it may not be the goriest but i was younger back then and it left a huge impression on me. i should never have watched it. so i stay away from gory movies these days.

why the hell do people make these gore movies anyway. it's perverted and pointless.

Nice, I like the sensless killing and no plot themes. (riki oh, Ichi the killer, the dead trilogy, evil dead, brain damaged, cheereader massacre, autopsy, faces of death, those movies kick some serious ass.
