Huh - I must admit it's surprising to me that a fairly recent film, directed by Peter Jackson, would compare to the movies I mentioned above (particularly Cannibal Ferox), but one never knows . . . I'll have to check it out.

Anyone who says Event Horizon has led a sheltered life . . .

 ... also, a few more come to mind in terms of scenes of sheer brutality and gore are Resevoir Dogs (ear ;)), Goodfellas and Casino. Of course, I'm a big Evil Dead fan. they're classics.

The dead trilogy is amazing, evil dead is a masterpiece, and Riki-Ho has to be the funniest thing I've seen yet.

Old people... *sigh*...

Well, I'm just responding to the topic . . . Event Horizon is only slightly gorier than Booty Call when compared to the Italian movies of the late 70s/early 80s.

Easily, Event horizon was an alright horror movie, but compared to the italian movies..it doesn't stand a chance.

Although I haven't seen it, it sounds like Riki-Ho would probably win on sheer gore. I have to believe, based on the trailer, that Ishi the Killer would compete as well.

This movie has rabid zombies, a kung fu fighting priest, and a finale that ends with a lawn mower. Trust me, its plenty gory.

you have no idea, I own both Riki and Ichi. I would have to say that Riki takes the kill as the best. It has gore, scenes that are supposto be serious (but are very very funny), a guy that can PUNCH through people, meatgrinders, fung fu masters (who transform in to something that has NOTHING to do with kung fu) Everything in that movie kicks ass.
