Hey Ppl!!

I'm going to be presenting a paper in this tech-fest soon.I wanted to talk about the various innovations in the world of CPUs.At present we've got HT,NetBurst and so on..(i know NetBurst is jus a gimmick,but whatever!)....also,there's Banias running really cool,showin the way for future mobile procs..
So,wats in the future??..or are there more significant stuff right now i've missed out on?

You looking for desktop CPUs or any CPUs, because there is always plenty of cool stuff hanging around the overall market...
 
there's a recent article on Wired about synthetic diamonds, which may eventually replace silicon for chip materials. quite an interesting read too.

remember things like memory controllers, bus etc on the mobo is just as important, still "cpu tech" as cpu needs to be designed to support them etc.
 
I believe the microprocessor fad is going to fade away in the style of the pet rock. Computers are just gimmicks.
