Uh, we don't need recordable DVD's for games. Although a DVD recordable standard at a reasonable price would help drive DVD-rom sales. With CD-ROM, games are saved on the hard drive, why would you want to save them on the DVD itself? I think DVD-ROM would be good for games. The biggest reason is that it eliminates having a ton of CD's for one game. The quality will also be better. But not much else. DVD is so popular in the movie industry because it is so much better than VHS....but DVD-ROM's aren't that much better than CD-ROM's...they just hold more data, basically. But I do think DVD-ROM should replace CD-ROM.
