<< Okay my friend has a slocket and has a 533 running now on hsi BH6, what if he were to buy a 1Ghz chip, would it still work? >>
Yes it would. The BH-6 supported up to p3 1ghz. It even supported the 1.2ghz p3 chip (I think it was 1.2ghz? maybe it was 1.1ghz?) that showed up for about 1-2 months and then Intel pulled because of stability problems.
Sure it will work but I don't know about the gains here. I could run my Celeron 533 @ 996. For all practical purposes doing everyday tasks, your not going to notice a difference.
😱 Whoops, read twice before you reply. yeah, anyways, Slotket would work.
Old fart😀o you know what the *electrical* limit of that board is? I'm not sure if it would electrically be able to support such a fast processor.
You know, power draw, etc..
Not sure what the power limit is. Remember when the BH6's came out the older power sucking PIII 600 2.05 Vcore Katami's were around. They use a ton of juice. Lots of people (including me) use C900 - C1100's in BH6 boards with no issue.
You'd be able to run any Cumine128 Celeron. My bro has a BF6, which is very similar to the BH6, and he's running a C1.1 at over 1200MHz...in fact its even possible to mod your slotket and CPU to accomodate Tualatin128 Celerons.
