Piece of fuck Corolla I have right now only does about 110mph top speed. When it lacks power that badly, I think you can guess how fun it is to pass on the highway. Hint: it's impossible.

100 MPH in a 1977 AMC Concord (maybe 1976, I forget). I used a hill to get that massive beast up to that speed. Probably the stupidest thing I ever did as a teenager. Luckilly, no cops and no accidents.

~145mph in an A4 avant S-line on the autobahn. I was sort of surprised the 1.8t was capable of powering such a big car to that speed but it did so well enough. Certainly would help to have had more power.


In the states I think maybe 120mph in my WRX just on deserted rural sections, dangerous but quite fun too

Don't leave windows down dude. Don't need the resistance. I had my brother with me. After I hit 100, he said keep it going. I got to 133 and decided to slow. Could have gone more...but didn't. Ran out of straight road anyway. When I first hit it, I was on an ever so slight incline for maybe a mile and a half. Then leveled off.

Not sure if it shuts off at a certain speed though. Some say they do at 118...but some say they do at 144. Clocked @ 150 so I dont know really. But, Im not willing to try it again.

I think he said keep it going, because he loves his 94 Grand Am GT

Indicated 160 in a Jackson racing SC 5g Prelude, speedo was a bit off, after doing some 1/4 runs I think the speedo was about 6mph off at that speed, 154 actual. It's amazing how inaccurate most speedos are at 100+ speeds. E46 M3 is notorious for this.

Oh, all right, if you want to get all relative about it... 170 km/h, or 105 mi/h, on my motorcycle, and feeling like the wind was gonna tear my head off. I may have gone faster with my dad in his old 320i many years ago, but I can't really remember, and then it wasn't me driving.
I'm not much of a speed demon - actually, fast speeds scare me a fair bit, because I'm always thinking of the physics involved in going that fast - and in stopping very suddenly should an obstacle appear. Not to mention what would happen if the vehicle were to catastrophically fail in some way. *shudder*

I am, however, addicted to acceleration. Maybe I'll stop going accelerating at 100 km/h, but if I'm in a sporty mood I'll reach that speed as fast as I possibly can. Oh yes, the primal scream of a motorcycle engine redlining puts a smile on my face that just doesn't go away...

lol what year? My first car was a Ford Tempo and the top speed was something like 140km/h, so that's like 88mph or so. Damn thing only had 3 gears and it sounded like it was going to explode when running that fast. One guy in the car even commented "I think you just took five years off the life of the car"
He may have been correct since the car didn't even last a year.
