Fx-8300 vs FX8320e?

Both are 95w so which is better?

FX8320e :

#1: 2800 MHz, 1.075V
#2: 2300 MHz, 1V

FX8300 :

#1: 2900 MHz, 1.0625V
#2: 2400 MHz, 0.9875V

If CPUworld numbers are genuine then the FX8300 require less voltage at a given frequency and thus slightly less power, the difference in perf/watt is about 10%, also the 8300 has 200MHz higher turbo.

The FX-8300 overclocks higher, more often than not, compared to the 8320e, if that makes any difference to you.*

edit: * Although neither are good for high clocks, compared to the 8350s/8370s/9370s.

Aww guys thank you so much for replying so fast. I had one of my mobo's take a dirt nap and needed to get something, anything really fast so I could have a working pc asap. So I went ahead and got the FX-8300 and the Asus 970 Gaming Aura mobo. I know I should of went with Intel Skylake but I got these parts at a Huge Huge Huge discount from Newegg because they screwed up several of my clients orders.Anyways this should hold me over till Kabylake and Zen Comes out later this year.Then I will upgrade to which ever turns out to be better. Again, thank you guys!!

Cool. While getting a skylake platform would be ideal, you can't pass up an amazing deal and with a good SSD and a GPU that machine will be just fine.

Nope not $50 but around $150 so it was a steal for me.beside this is our office PC and will be used as such.Pretty hard to upgrade to the newest parts for $150. besides it gives me something to tinker with till the true next gen cpu's "Kabylake/Zen" come to light.

LOL maybe true for the rich people around these parts but the only thing in my deep pockets is lint and pocket fuzz. 🙁 Believe me If I had the cash I would have gone 6700K and a shiny new Z170 mobo.

Actualy if we look closer at its numbers it s better, up to 4.2GHz, than all other FX83xx set apart for the FX8370E, and still, this latter has only a tiny advantage since it clock at 4.3 at the same voltage than the 8300 at 4.2, at lower frequencies both use the same voltage up to 3.6 at least.

So at stock it should consume in MT regular loading about 65W, and 80W with Prime 95, just like the 8370E.

Dont care much about overclocking this cpu. Actually thinking I may underclock it to like 2.0Ghz to save some electricity as its not the speed I am looking for but the threads for multitasking.but if its only going to be using 65w like you said then it will be fine where it is.
