What is the Difference Between the Enhance 5150G and 5150GH?

eWiz doesn't seem to be stocking the "GH" version anymore but they have the "G" version...

Any difference besides the color?

Also, for anyone that has the 5140 or 5150...

Are the cables long enough for a P180?

Thanks!

If you go to www.enhanceusa.com, you will find a LOT of information on all their power supplies.

Off-hand, I don't know the specific differences, but there were some, which is why I chose the 5150GH over the 5150G for my wife's computer.

I think, besides the paint scheme, there were some cabling differences between the two, maybe that the GH was 80 Plus certified and the G wasn't (don't hold me to that....both may have been, I just don't remember off-hand), possibly the GH was either ATI or SLI cert'd for dual card use and the other wasn't.

Whatever the differences, the Enhance website has a very complete listing of all the specs of their power supplies.

As for whether the cables are long enough for a P180, what I can tell you is this...the main ATX power cable, the 24-pin cable, is approx. 20" long from the power supply to the top of the plug itself. This is an approximate measure of the power cable on my wife's GH ps, and I say approximate because her computer is running right now so since I couldn't unplug the cable and stretch it out to measure, I used a piece of string and ran it along side the cable and measured. So, take that for what it's worth.....but that measurement should be within a 1/2" or so.

Hot damn! That's a lot of useful info!

I applaud you for your very helpful post, good sir!

According to what I've seen at their site...

The difference is that the GH is RoHS compliant and has an efficiency of 80% and up (80 Plus) where as the G has none of that stuff. 🙁

DAMN YOU EWIZ! Sigh...time to wait for free shipping on the HX520 at buy.com...
