What is the difference between soft and hard packs in cigarettes ?

All of mine are in hard packs... Since I am unable to purchase them myself, I have no clue what the hell the difference is..lol.

In terms of the actual cigarettes? Nothing. They just came before hard packs, and are being phased out.

hardpacks are for people that dont wear shirts with pockets, they are durable for the front pants pocket.

lol i understand about the whole its a harder pack
i was just wondering if their is something different in the cigarettes

They fit in pockets better.

Same Thought/Different question......... Do both cost the same?

Another difference which looks like it wasn't noted yet is that soft pack cigs are longer than hard pack (Nasty Marlboro's and Camels). Not sure how in the hell that happened..

😕

I don't think they are. You can get 100's, which are longer, but the cigs in soft and hard packs are the exact same.

there's no reason

No matter how many cigs are left in a hard pack, the box is exactly the same size.

With a soft pack, the pack becomes smaller as there become less cigs. Soft packs are usually preferable for women smokers who use a purse as they take up less space.

I do not think you can get Camel non-filters in anything but a soft-pack.

Nope. Different sizes. When I smoked the cheap shit, Marlboros and Camels, I would buy a soft pack because that's all the store would have at the time, then buy a hard pack. When I tried to put soft pack cigs in a hard pack they wouldn't fit.

Surprisingly, no. The soft pack smokes are a tiny bit longer than the boxed smokes. Not a noticable amount...until you try to put the ones from a soft back into a box...they don't quite fit. Must be 1-2 mm difference in length.
(unless they've changed that over the past couple of years)

Man I thought I was the only idiot who tried to put my extra soft pack smokes into the box, and no they still wont fit.

You came out of hibernation to post about cigs? 😛

The only time I ever bought a soft pack was when I got some camels. Holy balls they were unfiltered and awful.

way way back everything was soft pack. Then (marlboro, i think?) came out with hardpacks... in north america at least.

I think some of the french as well as east-euro smokes have come in hardpacks since the dawn of time, but they're a different style package. not "flip-top box".
