Can someone, who is sure, tell me the difference between getting an prescription exam for eyeglasses versus contacts? You are always charged extra for contacts, but I am not sure where this charge stems from. My theory is that the charge comes from the fitting (not magnification, but trying to figure out diameter, base curve, etc). If this is true, and your eyes are stabilized, then shuoldn't you only have the extra charge *once* on your life (when you first get contacts)? Ever year after that, they can determine it from your current/previous measurements right? So you are doing the work for them. Why the charge then?
