It may not be the best choice for each and every application, but it is
consistantly high quality, is reliable and compatible, and backed by a
good warranty.

BTW, Crucial = Micron.

Well, Crucial has, over the years, proven itself to be reliable and very overclockable.

Generic ram just doesn't hold up when put against crucial...yeah, generic is cheaper, but with ram, and i truly believe this, you get what you pay for.

Crucial = Micron
Micron =/= Crucial.

When you see "Micron" from those unreliable online mail order or small computer store or computer show,
they're 3rd party made stick, using unknown pcb, made by unknown factory, just using Micron chips.

Real Micron stick has MT sticker, good looking pcb, spd chip for sure.
Newegg is selling such real Micron stick. You can also find such real Micron stick in Dell's.

Crucial stick is real Micron stick with additional CT sticker, Crucial is Micron's direct sale to end-users.
However, sometimes ago some users reported that Crucial 512M ddr is using Samsung chips.

Well, if your RAM goes bad (I've had 2 sticks do this), crucial will take them back in a second and ship you replacements.

I actually got this all taken care of today and was only on hold maybe a max of 3 minutes during the whole process and they seemed to be well geared in this way.

Get Crucial over Generic any day. Crucial sells good stuff... And when it does go bad, they'll get it fixed for you.

Many reasons why Crucial ram is excellent,quality,reliabilty,very good after sales customer support,compatibility.In my case they even tested my Crucial ram for free and returned it free of charge :),ram is one of the key components in a PC so why compromise on this.

Crucial uses a higher quality chip than is used in generic ram. It costs a little more but gives greater stability than generic. I use generic in a k6-2 266 rig that I have in my shop is used for nothing but surfing the net. It works fine. However if I put it in a rig that needs a lot of processing power it simply will not work. I get continuous crashes. Generally for most rigs I build I compromise and use Kingston Value Ram. It is stable under normal conditions. If the customer is going to overclock I will use Crucial or the Kingston cas 2.0.
