what is the difference between a truly flat and totally flat monitor?

some monitors claim that they are flat, but they are still a bit curved, even though it looks like it's flat.

Well, I mean, if you want to get down to it, on a small enough scale, NOTHING is "flat". There are three kinds of CRT screens: spherical (curved horizontally and vertically), cylindrical (curved horizontally but not vertically, pretty rare these days I think), and flat (curved neither horizontally nor vertically, at least not in any meaningful amount). Pretty much every "flat CRT" these days is about as flat as glass can reasonably be expected to be.
 
but aren't some flat on the outside and still curved on the inside- i am sure that a LG i saw recently was very excitedly pointing out this fact- the diff between the LG 710b and 700b i think- tho i could be totally wrong 😛
 
Yeah some hide the curved part beneath the plastic surrounding it.. But the truely flat and totally flat sounds like marketing.
 
The truly flat monitor is truly flat and the totally flat monitor is ... sounds like a question for my local future shop sales person.
 
Some CRTs are externally flat but their inner tube is still curved. A handful are both internally & externally flat which could be the difference between the two terms.
