What is the difference between a Honda Accord LX, EX, LS, ES, etc.? (n/t)

Accord EX - highest model, best options (leather, alloys, etc)
LX - next down
DX is the bottom

LS and ES aren't used for the Accord I believe, I know there's an Integra LS and there's many manufacturers out there that use ES. It's all about the option packages that come with each model.

first, I think the Accord only comes in LX and EX--there's no ES, LS(thought other manufacturers use these). The EX has more features as standard equipment and therefore a higher price tag. And it has a few options available that aren't available on the LX.

So does the L stand for leather or something, and the S or X is automatic or manual? Or do they just pick random letters for the stuff?

snakesnfrogs, I think you might be right, the Civic comes in DX but now that I think about it I don't think I've ever seen an Accord DX...

as with Civic,
DX low, LX midrange, EX highest..

for accords, DX is the only one withOUT a V6 option and equipped with a 135hp engine.
the rest (LX, EX) have at least a i4 150hp one.
there's no DX Accord Coupe

oddly enough, the 200 hp v6 engine does not have Manuel Tranmission.

there's no LS/ES for Accord, and I can't remember which car has an ES model, but Alot of car manufacturer used similar naming system.

check carpoint.com, it got most basic car info there.

i think for the equivalent of Accord Dx is just accord, no lx nor ex
LX has autotmatic stuff like powered windows etc.
Lx doens't mean its leather, leather are like extra options which cost u extra.
EX is a V6, lx is V4.
the way they do LX, Ex, for civics is very much the same way they would categorize it for accords.

I work for a Honda supplier, and for us LX, EX, and DX are just different door styles. The LX and EX are power window, and the DX is not. As for other features, I don't know. Except that the EX fabric on their doors is a lesser qulity. 🙂

Forgot to mention, Ex and LX, as far as I know, don't come in leather, but LX comes in fabric and leather.

Geez, people are all over the map on this.

Accord comes in DX, LX, EX, EX-L, LX V6 and EX V6.

DX is the stripper and exists solely for price
LX is the bread and butter model. Power windows/locks, AC, cruise, etc.
EX is the high trim level. 6CD, ABS, moonroof, alloys, etc. The I-4 also has VTEC
EX-L is the same thing as EX but with leather
LX V6 is the same thing as the LX but with the V6 (and maybe something else like traction control)
EX V6 is the same thing as the EXL but with the V6, traction control and automatic climate control

You can get either a manual or an automatic with any of their 4 cylinder models (which is an I-4, not a V4). The V6 models only come with an automatic.

I have an EX-L manual.

Why not go to the Honda website and look there? There's so many differences in terms of standard options that it's impossible to list them all here.

The differences are minimal -

-None have a turbo

-None are RWD or AWD

-None are very quick

-None handle that well

So basically they all suck 😛

<< -None are very quick

-None handle that well
>>

The V6 runs the quarter in the low 15's last time I checked, that's far from "not quick" and Hondas have some of the best handling when it comes to FWD, so I'd like to ask you, "wtf are you smoking?"

Oh well i'm just used to RWD and AWD having owned a Skyline GTS-T and a WRX and having friends that own a Mitsubishi 3000GTO and an EVO 4 and a Skyline GT-R.

But you are right in that Honda's do have amongst the best handling for a FWD package.

I dont know about the sub-15's comment though, at least here in Australia we aren't that fortunate (we are the dumping ground for the worlds worst cars)

<< So does the L stand for leather or something, and the S or X is automatic or manual? Or do they just pick random letters for the stuff? >>

To the best of my knowledge, the letters don't stand for anything in particular. A lot of older cars used names like Bel Air, Special, Biarritz, LeBaron, etc. to differentiate between models.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong! 🙂

yeah, Mitsu-s do have ES,
funny thing, Mitsubishi and Dodge share engines in some car, I didn't know they would share names too..

and this what I came up b4 about Honda's naming structure

DX = Deluxe OR stanDard
LX = Luxury
EX = Elegance, Extraodrinary

but Luxury definitely sounds better than the 2 Es though
