What is the difference between a Corporation and Constitutional Convention

I really don't get this "The corporations are so evil, they have more control of the government than you, etc."

The drones go on and on about how bad those corporations are being all corporationy, what with their evil collection of people using their might and pooling resources to lobby and change law.

What is the difference?

A Constitutional Cconvention is assembled to discuss changing the Constitution that governs all of the citizens of our nation. Corporations are founded for the benefit of their stockholders. The prime objective of for profit business corporations is profit. Any regard or respect for the rights, benefits or well being of anyone else is strictly voluntary on their part.

I'm surprised you even know what a Constitutional Convention is. But good.

Now this is where I equate the notion the evil corporations have more control over law making than a single person organizing and lobbying congress. Yes, there is a fine line. One is specified in The Constitution (official convention), the other is getting the ear of reps by co-operating. Cooperashun....Corporation. Regarding lobbying you guys or anybody can cooperate and lobby congress.

Unlike people, corporations are creatures of the state devised for the purpose of commerce. They are intended as a means to facilitate investment by limiting the liability of the stockholders to the amount of their investment, unliike a sole proprietorship or general partnership where the owner(s) may be held liable for damages to the full extent of their assets, regardless of how that liablity arises.

As "creatures of the state," they can and should be regulated by the state to assure that they don't amass such wealth and power as to abuse, subjugate or otherwise damage or destroy the rights of individual citizens whose interests the Constitution is intended to protect and serve.

The goal of all corporate entities is to generate profit. The goal of people is the one spelled out in the preamble of our constitution. In the end, the purpose of corporate entities is inherently incompatible with the goals of our society as spelled out in that document.

I can make many an Economic argument for why it's a bad idea, but the fundamental incompatibility of the two things above is really the only argument to worry about.

I can see that a lack of specifics is a strong point for you. And how on earth did you get from corporations to Constitutional conventions? I'd check out those dizzy spells.
