What is the definition of a "BUNCH"?

I remember back in high school a teacher telling me that a "bunch" was a mathematical term for some enormous quantity, but I've not heard of it since.

May be a different BUNCH, but it was an acronym in the mid-80's or so to refer to the second-tier, big-iron computer companies: Burroughs, Unisys (or maybe Univac, don't know when they changed their name), NCR, Control Data, and Honeywell. If memory serves, "BUNCH" was coined after "the seven dwarves" dropped to five through consolidation (as in IBM and the seven dwarves). Or maybe it was a bad dream, but I think this is right.
