<< The girl that I'm currently dating was my best friend for 4 months before she broke up with her boyfriend of 2 years, and then she told me to ask her out. It turned out that I wasn't the only one who had a crush during that 4 months.... >>

She told you to ask her out? She should have plainly asked you out considering she alaready basically did it.

... I know, it's weird. Basically after she dumped her boyfriend she's like "Now that I'm single, are you going to go after me".

I thought I was stuck in the friend zone so I said "I don't know"

Her reply: "I was hoping for a yes"

and it went on from there about how much she wanted to kiss me the other night when we were hanging out, etc.
After that, the next two "dates" ended in nice little make-out sessions, yet she told my friend that I'm still supposed
to "officially" ask her out, which I did on Valentine's Day.

Hmmm.. Yeah, what's with all this label and define? lol... I dunno. I would say it's basically what the dictionary said. Going out and doing something social with the person.

When I got together with my girlfriend, it wasn't like that. We didn't go "out on a date" and decide we like eachother, lol.. It just kinda happened. But now that you mention it, maybe it's a good question. I'm not sure what I would call our relationship. That's funny.. lol..

"going out", "seeing eachother", "we're together", "dating", "going steady"? lol... I guess all would apply.

What's the next step? "getting married"? Ack.. :Q

lol

ya go out with some ppl and then when ya know each other well and decide ya like each other then ya 'date' (thats the official part)

I don't think money needs to be a part of "date". I went on a great date last night and we kind of paid for each other, she spotted a cab one way, I the other. We each paid for our ticket and just split dinner down the middle. She doesn't like when people pay for her (and it would get really expensive if I paid all the time). So we went to dinner, saw a Beautiful Mind (me for the 2nd time) and then went back to her place for a couple hrs. We both had a great time.
