What is the "defaut" voltage for a .18um Slot A Athlon 650mhz

It's 1.6 volts for the optimal setting. It ranges from 1.5 volts to 1.7 volts Your is a K75-650(.18)on the charts.

My GFD has voltage settings from 1.75 to 2.05 in .1 volt incraments; and multiplyer incriments of 50mhz from 300 to 1050mhz.

What should I do? I have the default heatsink. (decent size heatsink, with 2 7000rpm fans on it) I want to somehow get it to 800mhz if i can.

I doubt you'll get it over 750,your cache right now is at 1/2 cpu speed,to go to higher speeds you'll need to solder your cache to a slower speed.

you dont have to solder cache to lower it

you can use mathlon (sorry no link for this)

or if you have a motherboard that supports it you can lower it that way.

I know one of the bios for the K7V lets you change this

Mathlon will not help you if your system doesnt even post with the cache set too high.

Maybe turning off L2 in the bios & then have Mathlon enable it back might work.

Insane3d, the Athlon Classic 650 was 1.60 volts.

AT is reviewing the Classic Athlon, which has a die of .25

The K7 (.25)500-700 and the K75 (.18) 550-750 all have the same default Vcore of 1.6 volts. The Vcore jumped to 1.7 volts on the K75-800 and higher if the info is correct on my earlier link.
