4chan may be weird but remember it's the origin of:
-roflcopter
-lolcats
-fail
-lulz
-rick roll
-much more

There are OVER 9000 more!

Pretty much everything on the internet thats funny originated from there.

those that have a problem with 4chan, should stick to msn, cnn, these kinds of forums.

Probably the same type that cries when a bar doesn't have stella or shirley temples.

Or at least got a foothold.

same.

not sure i care enough to figure it out.

Same here, too.

I'm certain I don't care enough to figure it out, though I remain curious.

As for getting funny - I rely on ATOT members to filter the endless slog of crap on the internet, picking out the juiciest bits for me. You all are sort of like The Soup for the Internet.

I believe they are hackers on steroids. At least they used to be. 4chan was never funny but occasionally they had some good stuff. It got over run by teeneyboppers in the last year or so. Last time I checked it was all reposts and garbage. Apparently they hate Tom Cruise now.

Yeah, that's exactly it, it's not well organized, and you can't really trace who said something, or find them again if you want to speak to them personally. Keeps the Party Van away maybe? As for the initials... *shrug*

Uh, you're anonymous by default. You're not supposed to find who said what, or trace all the comments from one person.
You can even have people being idiots and replying to themselves but pretending they are a new person. You don't "speak" to people anyway, you hurl abuse at them, is the general rule.

If I remember the initials are for japanese words. The original site was for anime, cosplay and general Japanese culture worship. The only ones of interest are /v/ and /b/, v is video games and b is random. b may or may not be the pussing stinkhole of the internet.

4Chan is the bowels of teh internets. I know two people in real life who visit it regularly. 1 is a stereotypical heavy metal nerd, the other is an artist. I told my artist buddy that every time I have looked at /b/, there is some sort of gay/tranny porn on the front page. He says no, I show him the front page. I win. Or rather, we both lose.
