What is the point where I should have the computer shut down?
Currently it is 43 C/109 F for the CPU temp. Its a AMD XP 2000.
Motherboard temp is 25C/77F

This computer was given to me and I had it open to swap drives and found that it didnt have a 80mm fan in the back its just the cutout. So I was kind of worried. The case is made by Antec and has all that temperature sensing fan speed stuff but there are only 4 fans. (CPU, PowerSupply, fan in front by the power button under the A:Drive, and the little fan on the vid card.)

So whould i put an extra fan in where a 80mm fan should go on the back?

Those temps are perfectly fine.

Its pretty high at 60C, and gets dangerous at about 80C.

You have nothing to worry about.

Should I add annother fan to it? The case fan in the back? Just seems so wierd to not have a fan in teh back like all my other computers that i had.

how do i test it under full load? I wouldnt think this computer needs to work so hard since it has 1.2GB of ram. Wouldnt that reduce the load on the processor?

The amount of ram doesn't affect the load on the processor.

Run Prime95 and watch the temps rise.

43c isn't out of line for an Athlon, but there's nothing wrong with adding another fan.

if you want to cool your other components like harddrives etc better yes add more fans. but your cpu is fine

If the CPU is running too hot, it will shut down itself (as long as it's a Tbred, although I'm not sure if that one is or not).

Regardless, 43C is fine. Many people's Athlons run at 50C and above. I would be worried at 55C and higher myself.
