But the Maltese Cross is more appropriately described as those worn/displayed by firefighters. It comes from the Knights of St John on the island of Malta (thus Maltese). Thier opponents threw glass vials with flammable liquids in them then it was lit. They were burned alive in their armor. Others rushed to thier aid - considered by many to be the first true firefighters (those willing to risk thier lives to save others). It's a badge of honor with a history hundreds of years old... not some logo for an overgrown foul-mouthed baby and his kid who can make stupid looking bicycles with motors.
