Send yourself to India in a box.

There is a guy that did this recently and he got in some serious trouble. He would have gotten away with it, but he popped out in front of the delivery man just after he dropped him off IIRC.

They said the dude let himself out of the box while on a plane delivering him. That's a bit scary.

Found a link.

Eeks... $200???

If you are serious, I think the only hope you have of staying anywhere near that budget is by container ship.

Usually, you can find some great deals on transport. The downside is it will probably take you 2 months to get there, and the quarters are pretty small, and you eat with the crew. Also, the boat may change schedules at their whim, so you have no idea when you will actually get there. If that doesn't bother you, then I would look into it.

A quick google search brings up this:

US / Sri Lanka / India (56 days)

m/v INDAMEX MALABAR, m/v INDAMEX NEW DELHI (1 Owners, 2 Doubles and 1 Single cabin, maximum 7 passengers)

Route: New York - Norfolk - Charleston - Port Said - Suez - Colombo - Tuticorin - Nhava Sheva - Suez - New York.

No mention of price, though. Look around and post back if you actually find a way to do it on that short of a budget.

He's fortunate the cargo hold was pressurized..

Ironically I heard he could have flown first class for the same amount it cost him to ship himself.

Didn't he get like 5 years. That's crazy. Edit: I guess he didn't get sentenced yet.

Anyways, I have no idea about how one becomes a missionary. Maybe thru a church, maybe you have to be a nun though, hell I don't know.

Not really, have you ever been to India? I'm serious, it was the worst place I've ever been to, and I've been chased by mad dogs in Romania.

In Soviet Russia, you chase the mad dogs.

iwearnosox, where in India did you go to that formed such a great opinion that is no doubt shared by the likes of many people?

No you're not. You're not going to India on $200.00. Hell, last year I paid $2800 for 2 tickets.

Freighter Pricing Guide: Budget about $100 (about £65) per person per day plus any dues and taxes.

Get real dood. You will never get to India in any conventional means with $200.
Walk.
Sell drugs.
Pretend you're a monkey.

Your best bet is to fly to england for $200 (cheap tickets abound) then go to immigration and tell them you illegaly entered england and miss india and want to go back, they might just send you back. If not atleast you'll get lots of good indian food in england.

I understand where you are coming from bro...I miss india too...sometimes...
