I can't believe that some people here have nothing better to do than monitor all the posts and bitchslap anyone who reposts anything that has ever been said before. That's just SAD! For my part, I find most of the reposts to be very helpful. I don't live on these forums and have missed some really great things. Without the reposts I would never have seen them, period. And only the really good and/or interesting things seem to get reposted anyway, so they are even more useful.

I say GO REPOSTS! They are useful and they aid the community. And to all the "repost stalkers" man, get a life. If you are seeing too many reposts then take that as a message to push the chair away from the computer and go outside for a few minutes. Then maybe you won't mind as much.

Reposts don't bother me unless there's been several threads the same day. What bugs me more is people posting questions in the wrong forum and crossposting.

There was like three clown avatar threads on the front page that was stupid.

I find people who complain about repoest a lot more annoying then the repost itself. It's like a game to some people or something, they have to be the first person in the thread to type Repost.. and if that wasn't enough, there will be ten other followers in there saying repost as well, as if the one wasn't enough. Actually I am very surprised that no one has posted Repost in this thread yet, to be "funny" .. but i'm sure it will come soon

This thread has been reposted a thousand times before. Learn to use the SEARCH function!

Reposts are ok, if the repost is MONTHS apart... but if it's weeks, days, or even hours... they should be deleted immediately.

Nothing bugs me more than somebody who is just "too busy" to bother reading or replying to topics already posted, but not "too busy" to start their own topics, one after another, whether they've already been covered or not. Being "so busy", it's not surprising they can't take the trouble to search and see if something has already been posted. Just breaks my heart if someone makes them uncomfortable by pointing out their repost. But, the repost police who don't bother to link to the original post are nearly as lazy as the reposter! :|

Everyone here (if they have made any signifigant number of new threads), has reposted something at one time or another.

What cracks me up is it's very often these very same people who are the biggest repost nazis.

Well, it bothers me when you lazy, out-of-shape, no-hobby idiots do nothing but sit on here ALL day long, read every post, and then can actually tell 8 days later if something is a repost. I post here often, but not half as much as some of you.

I'm trying to say that it's ok if you like posting here, do as much as you want. Just don't bitch when someone else who is a little more casual at posting can't and doesn't want to be here all the time.

And STFU about the Search function. It's merely there for searching for old threads that you want to go back to look at. It's not for easing your retarded minds so you can have that extra 'original' thread on the front page than the one thread about the clown avatar. So people are excited about the clown, get off their backs.

Come back later and try posting again when you're feeling a little more coherent!

Seems like the majority of people here either approve of reposts or don't care (3:1 ratio). Maybe the repost nazi's should just chill their asses out.

some people actually take it as a personal attack. I for one don't mind reposts if properly spaced. There is ALWAYS something new to add to a conversation, as long as its given enough time for actual new things/people/faces/names/whatever are given the time.

"ALWAYS something new to add to a conversation..."

Perhaps you might even... oh, I don't know... reply in the original topic?

I don't mind someone saying "repost" as long as (a) the person claiming "repost" actually verifies it is a repost and (b) they post a link to the original thread. Anybody else who posts after the first repost is nothing but a neff. As for a reposted thread, if the original thread hasn't had a genuine reply within the past three weeks, then let the new one live. Topics are going to be brought up time and time again and unless you know about the old one and are monitoring threads that are months old, you're not going to go dig around ATOT to revive it.

And it's damned hard sometimes to prevent a duplicate thread since not all threads are titled well (e.g. "OMG! Look at this!" vs. "Plane crashes in Shangri La"). :|

Then you guys would bitch about bumping old threads.

I don't think, though, it's that people are too lazy to search, then reply, it's that they never knew the original thread existed. Anytime I've reposted, that's been the case. And no matter how much you repost nazis will cry repost to your dying day, I will not search everytime I want to post something. It's insane to think anyone should do so.

It's a FACT! People ARE too damn lazy to search before posting a NEW TOPIC, not a reply. Fvck 'em. I hope reading the word REPOST grates on their poor, lazy, little psych!

If they're done some time apart, fine, but if a lot of people all post the same thing (a good example would be who wins the superbowl threads, or the reposts of the new avatar thread), it gets kind of silly.
