What is the best Wireless network kit....

I am interested in setting up a wireless network between my laptop and desktop so they both share internet connection and I can share files amongst the two systems...I came across this, is this any good or is there something out there that is better and more reliabe at a fairly reasonable price?

Cisco $$$$

Oriinoco

Seimens

Linksys (owned by Cisco)

Netgear

Microsoft

Basically look in the sunday paper for a deal. or pricewatch. You can likely do a little better than that.

Also check hot deals on Anandtech, Networking on Anadtech and hot deal form on fatwallet.com

Cisco is out of the consumer product market. They are letting Linksys handle it. Shame too, I have an Aironet 350 wifi pcmcia card and it has awesome range.

Ooh... I haven't seen any DECENT reviews of Microsoft's offering at all... I'd suggest to stay away. What about SMC? I haven't tried out their wireless stuff, but their routers were pretty damn good. And DLink?

They had an ORiNOCO Silver Cardbus PC Card for $38 once. Supposedly, those can tweak into ORiNOCO golds, which have excellent range.
