What is the best way to start a small web store?

I'm thinking goDaddy domain name ($6) and linux economy hosting ($4/month) with osCommerce.

Is there a better deal out there?

all depends on what you're selling and how much demand you are forecasting.

Funny you should bring this up, because the company I work for wants to begin online sale. I was thinking of a eCommerce Hosting Plan.... then I looked into the Yahoo! Store.

All have decent pricing, but we're a very small company and I told my boss that we should test the waters first to see if we get DEMAND and if we get too much to upgrade to these services....

.
sooo with later research I actually discovered that paypal has a shopping cart plan. Its pretty simple and our company decided to go with this to see how things work out.
You can read more on it here:

Its kind of what NewEgg is doing... just some thoughts.

danny~!

I should have mentioned some details. I *think* demand will be quite small, perhaps a sale a day.

Danny, I was going to open a PP merchant account and process credit cards like that. osCommerce says it integrates easily, and everythign still stays on thewebsite (it doesn't take you to PayPal's). Is this what you're planning?
