i have two WD 40GB on a promise TX2 in Raid-0. i recently had a major windows screw up that has prompted me to write zeroes to the drive (don't even ask hehe). anyway, i have a couple of questions regarding partitions: btw i wanna clean install winxp, and want three partitions (winxp, progs/server files/personal backup)

1. with what prog is the safest/best way to make partitions? i mean can i use fdisk even tho it wont recognize how big my drive is?
2. is there a compelling reason to use ntfs if i just want best performance?
3. what program is the best to do all this with? can i use my WD diagnostics disk thru my raid array?
4. is it unsafe to resize/move partitions within windows once they are set?

Best program to partition under any circumstances, including setting up raid, is Partition Magic (at least version 4 and upwards). As far as I am aware, resizing shouldn't make any difference in terms safety for the drive you are increasing/decreasing in size, but I am not sure if it affects the partition you are breaking in to.

There should be no need to use ntfs at all, unless you are using NT
Edit.. sorry.. not sure about XP!

There is a fantastic RAID how-to on an Abit website.. I'll post the URL when I get home.
