pay a kid in your neighborhood 10 bucks to shovel.
Or pay one 40 bucks...

10 bucks in nothing

40 bucks? to shovel snow? what are you smoking?

next time it snows, let me know where you live and i'll be there asap if you wanna give me 40 bucks

at least the only thing at your disposal wasn't an old metal shovel with a friggin broken handle like i had to deal with this morning :disgust:

if u offered me $10 to shovel the driveway after this storm... i'd laugh and keep walking.

I paid 2 guys $20 to shovel here. (2 driveways + sidewalk) Their price, not mine. 😉

Hot water and a hair dryer with a large extension cord, for those who're financially challenged.

Same here... I shovel and dont expect any type of payment.

Thank god I lifted with my legs and not my back. My lower back muscles are sore but no back problems.

Does snow melt really work? Here in New Jersey I got 2 feet. Pain in the @ss to shovel.

Heheheh...Sorry, no sympathy from me here in the midwest. Now you Easterners know how I feel every winter. 🙂

BTW, I don't think melting the snow with salt first is a good idea. First, unless there's only an inch of snow, salt won't melt much. Second, if it's cold enough, all the salt in the world ain't gonna help melt the snow. Third, half-melted snow is harder to move than fluffy snow, plus you have the weight of the salt added. Plus the meltwater will turn into ice overnight.

I've got a 5 to 6 foot pile of snow on each side of my driveway. Damn my back hurts!
To make matters worse I helped a neighbor (who had an attack of cabin fever and just had to go out in a level 3 snow emergency) and proceeded to get his 4wheeler stuck in 3 foot drifts 3 times just trying to get up the road to his house.

Anyway, if we get anymore, I am getting an SUV, chains & snow plow.

When it snowed about 6 inches last week, I charged about 25-30 bucks a driveway...
So now that there's about 20 inches 40 bucks seems pretty reasonable.
