The "fastest, money no object card" would probably be the watercooled Gainward FX Ultra.

No, the 9800Pro will still school that in pretty much every field, I'm afraid.Even more so if you overclock and watercool it.

Hey Merc, if (and when) Nvidia comes out with it's next product and brings ATI to it's knees, will you acknowledge it? Or will you stand firmly by your Uncle ATI?
*snicker*
I guess we will just have to see won't we. You know it's coming. Does it piss you off? I hope it does. You by far are one of the more annoying, ignorant, arrogant and
embarrassing members of this forum. If you do not wish to be spoken to this way, I suggest you rethink how you treat fellow members of this forum and don't be a ridiculous
imbecile by ranking someone out for having his caps lock on. How much of a simpleton could you possibly be? But, thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent on someone. I know I
can always count on you.

heh... I clicked on your link then saw SGi start to load up on the window title bar... closed it right away before I got envious. I haven't worked with an SGI box in a while but man those things are like tanks. I had one running a 3D render, Ripping 30 slides to an acetate printer, editing some layout, and running image editing, all in 4 different windows under UNIX, and this was in the days where a Pentium 90 was a top of the line consumer machine.Originally posted by: Schadenfroh

Hey now! 1600+s with 256MB of RAM are just fine! *pats system reassuringly*
is that right? I haven't been paying attention. I've been an ATI fan since my first computer. They've always made good boards and mac and PC compatible. That and the whole NV30 ordeal was quite ugly. I already have a R9800 so I'm not interested in the 5900 but Nvidia does have a few things I do want which ATI fails to support, the main thing being stereoscopic support. I saw how awesome 3D stereo glasses were on an Nvidia card with built in stereo support. When I bought them for my Radeon 9700 and 9800, it ran like total crap. Until ATI builds this support into their drivers, it is my only real complaint.Originally posted by: shady06
c'mon all, I'm an ATi man but the 5900 ultra is simply faster than the 9800 pro

Thats like putting $3000 Pirelli tires on your 150hp civic.
You'll never utilize full performance on either example.
and I'm not knocking your athlon 1600+. I have one that still serves me well but my Radeon 9800 is in my 2.8ghz 800fsb rig![]()
(btw my 1600+ still uses my Voodoo 4500. I got more performance longevity out of that card then any other PC computer part I've ever had. That thing should go on my mantle when I retire it)
