I currently have a 16mb ATI AGP rage graphics and am wondering what the best upgrade video card wise would be for around $150 this system also has a 700mhz duron and if you think upgrading the processor or a combinatino of both would be a better idea please let me know even if it cost more than $150. all ideas are greatly apprcieated.

I'd reccomend you to look at GTS not that bad specs at attractive price (if you like to play games), about CPU... 700 MHZ is not that bad but you can hook-your-self with 900mhz Duron, qutie cheap now days
The Geforce II GTS 32mbs, would cost you ~130 at newegg.com, and Duron about 70, most likly OEM 🙂

BTW, this is the prices you have no need to strugle for it's quite avarage price reference... so look at hot deals forum, or Trade/Sale forum, and Look at some stuff over there 🙂

ATI Radeon 64MB DDR 4X AGP Video Card (Retail Box) - $161
Leadtek Winfast Geforce 2 Pro GTS 64MB 5.5ns DDR RAM - $171

Both cards are top performers. If you play games, I recommend getting the latter. If you watch DVD often, get the former.

Second Limsandy's suggestions. Spot on. I almost got the GTS Pro, but I'm gonna wait until Sep/Oct when the GF3 comes down to $250 or less. 😀

Get a GF2 GTS or MX and you could consider a CPU and/or memory upgrade to help performance as well.

I'd recommend a kyro II. But then again, I haven't tried it either 🙁. Most people aren't recommending it probably because it is new and no one knows how it acts (i.e. driver wise, and little things here and there) ... but I'd try it if I were you

uhh...there's a Leadtek GeForce2 Pro 32MB for $138

it isnt 64mb, but if money matters, this card is 30-40 cheaper than the next up in Pro cards. AND, it's only $8 dollars more than the cheapest GTS card...almost no question 🙂 (imo, that is)

on online auction places...u can buy used cards of GTS type for about 100 as well
