The thread doesn't state why the names where banned. I assume most if not all were banned because of incompatible users behind the names.

I made the account to post to and about an inane thread. (I guess the OP was moved.) My future is now being discussed in the Cave. You know, such a heinous crime and all. After all, I used my IP and my real email address. I could have ripped off thousands of people in the FS/T forums.
I guess they are going by the guidelines below. I am not sure #8 applies as I have not been banned and created then second account.

1) No trolling, flaming or personally attacking members. Deftly attacking ideas and backing up arguments with facts is acceptable and encouraged. Attacking other members personally and purposefully causing trouble with no motive other than to upset the crowd is not allowed.

8) Only one account is allowed per person. If you've been given a vacation or a ban, do not create a new account. Instead, please discuss the matter with our moderators via email at moderator@anandtech.com. We have various ways to check if accounts were started by the same person. We will also permaban new accounts based on strong circumstantial evidence or the appearance that they may be secondary accounts.
