Just ran out of my old tube of AS-5 that has lasted me over a year. Was getting ready to order another tube, but thought I'd ask to see if anything better has come out in the last couple years.
 
I wouldn't trust that benchmark very much. It shows Ceramique outperforming AS5, which we all know is not true.

Yup. It'll barely make a difference, except between AS5 and incorrectly applying loads of manufacturer-included goop. Go for AS5 or the Zalman to be sure if you like. The Zalman has a little brush thing to apply it, which is damn handy.
 
The biggest factor is the improper application of the compound. For as5 read the instructions as they say apply a dab the size of a grain of rice. That is what I've been doing for the longest and it works out great. Once I seat the hsf it will stay good for years unless you remove it. I use as5 on everything I mount and it has worked out well for me. Hell you can get it at radio shack now under the thermaltake name.
