Buddy of mine plans on getting an Athlon XP 2600-M and a TT Silentboost with a 1GB Kingmax PC3500. At first I recommended him the Abit NF7, but alot of people are having pretty good success with the cheaper Shuttle AN50. Epox seems to have a nice board too with active cooling on the northbridge and active cooling on the south. (they seem to be the only one to do this) Is active cooling really required for overclocking up to 240MHZ FSB with the Nforce 2 boards? Oh btw for the PSU he wanted something cheap and simple so I recommended him the Enlight 420W PSU, this PSU should be able to allow his CPU to reach its peak right?

WHY DOES EVERYONE OVERLOOK THE BIOSTAR M7NCD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways......i have a Biostar M7NCD-Pro and it kicks ass...other than the fact its missing SATA and Firewire. But I do believe both of those are available on the M7NCD-Ultra version. The M7NCD-Pro I have has GREAT overclocking options. My 2500+ is prime stable at 3200+ 11x200 without ANY voltage change...its great!!! these boards are byfar the STABLEST nforce2 ultra 400 boards out there....no one looks at them...and they are CHEAP AS HELL!!! omg...SUPER CHEAP...and SUPER AWESOME....anyways...thats just my 2 cents...and my opinion of what ure buddy should get....a M7NCD-Ultra

Biostar might have some problem with CPU cooling. From some reviews I just read capacitors are very close to the CPU socket, so big coller in not an option.

I've got one of those Epox boards, and it works very nicely
I've also got that same PSU...lol
it's a pretty good PSU from my experience...it's let me hit 2.6ghz on air with a couple mobiles
Enlight is a good brand...may not be as popular as Enermax or Antec, but they're good

My shuttle AN35N Ultra is nice and its like 60$ from newegg, im running my2400+ @ 11x200 currently but it will do 218x11 or 215x11.5 if you up the voltage to 1.8.

a SLK-900a fits on it nicely with a 80mm tornado
