Like the title says.. What is the best software for converting Divx to VCD or VCD to Divx?

Just to let you know. The quality on a VCD/DIVX or DIVX/VCD is not going to be that good.

Depends. The resolution may not be that great, but I know for a fact most VCD/SVCD files scale just fine up to 1024x768 (the size I watch most of them) and DivX depends too much on the quality of the first movie, but I've seen some excellent quality DivX movies (one of them I ripped myself from DVD just to see how long it would take on my laptop).

Nah, it's a 1yr old Dell PIII 1Ghz. But the hard disk is the bottleneck, not the CPU. Laptop hard drives suck hard, but I guess I'm spoiled by the SCSI160 drive in my workstation.
