What is the best RTX 2080? Ti

Hi, I recently read an article about the gtx 1080 ti’s starting to run out so i have swap my interests to the rtx 2080 Ti. Pls recommend me a great rtx 2080 Ti gpu thanks
also i want to tell me because i must know what to do what is the difference between 2080 Ti rtx and 1080 ti? 2080 rtx has the same performance like 1080 ti>? in games?? or 1080 ti is better from 2080 Ti rtx??

DLSS support could increase frame-rates for many titles and provides future-proofing?? Newer games with more modern engines tend to perform better on RTX hardware??

Read the reviews... The 2080 Ti is rather new and the vast majority of us will not have one.

For those resolutions a 2080ti will last you more than 2 years, if you have the money and want the best, buy one.
Id go for the Evga card, that one is the best.

There is something very wrong with this launch.
My Asus dual 2080Ti didn't even last a night of 3D work before failing hard.
Pity too, because when the card did work it was fast and worth the price IMO.
But as it sits, pass on it.

I bought 2 Gigabyte ones for Octane render and only have them for like 2 weeks running, so far so good, but i am yet to use them for some heavy duty work... i hope they will be up to it. I am even afraid to try even mild OC with them, given the fact they run at 75-77C already under load in Octanebench.

It really depends on your budget and what you have right now. A 1080Ti is able to do over 60fps at 1440p in most games at the highest settings. The 2080Ti is able to do over 60fps at 4k in most games at the highest settings. Neither will be able to hit 144fps in all games at 1440p unless you lower the quality. Do you have the luxury to spend $1200 on a 2080Ti or is the 1080Ti more in line?

Yes two of them. I have two other ones that have survived a week of mixed loads. The EVGA Ultra SC (two fan, three slot) is a nice card and never gets over 63C. The Triple Fan MSI (HUGE!) is slightly faster but runs about 10C hotter as well. Both cards have passed a week of rendering workloads which are significantly higher than gaming. I still wouldn't trust them for long term reliability. Hoping that I get the in stock notification from nVidia for the Titan RTX. Going to get two of those upon release to compare.

Oh, good for you, the titan thing i mean. I wish i had that kind of income to afford them but it will be enough if my Tis just wont break, i will be fairly satisfied with that.

Btw when your cards broke, you said it was during rendering...Did it happen to a card in multi gpu setup which was not plugged to display? I just wonder how would the card failure manifest in say octane, if it was the secondary card failing...would it give the space invaders screens or freeze or blackscreem like in case of card which is used as display adapter?

I do believe those bad batches will eventually be gone from the wild. Hopefully they already are.

I think the only 2080 ti I would avoid are the blower variants, and I can happily say, none of the blowers are from Nvidia!

Seems like most cards broke within the first few weeks after the purchase, so hopefully once i pass this period i will be out of the woods. Now it can always break down the road for whatever reason but IMO general rule of thumb with hardware, if it wont break with first 2-3 months of use, it will last several years at least. So here is the hoping. I really dont want to deal with RMAs, especially seeing how the cards are once again not available locally. It seemed we are past that point back in November - i mean the scarcity thing - seems we are not.

Good luck finding them from major websites for anything close to MSRP. The stock has been pretty much depleted, leaving RTX 2080 the superior choice.

If you can find the Strix at your local MC it's $1279. Pretty decent deal considering they are fetching over $1700 on ebay.
I have one on reserve that I'm grabbing today and they have another left so I may get that too so I can see how much faster SLI is than a single Titan RTX. I have two of them incoming but UPS tracking shows delivery exception. I hope they didn't get stolen. har har!

Finally, I have an evga FTW3 1080ti from last year (paid $800 pre minin prices LOL) and can't believe these are fetching close to a grand USED! WTF is going on with graphics cards?

There are still some decent deals here on the 1080Ti in FS/T. I picked up one. The ebay prices suck and are sometimes over $700 for a used one, at which point you may as well get a new 2080 with a full warranty.

Strix 2080ti seems to be the best so far. Barely audible fans under full load (Heaven 4.0 loop, everything maxed out at 4096x2160) and temps in the mid 50s! Amazing cooler. Going to flip that switch to the performance mode next. Also the kill switch that turns OFF all lighting is a nice touch. No longer need to pull the wires on the RGB lighting.

There are reviews of dead 2080ti strix cards on mivrocenters website up until mid December. 3 reviews, 2 died. I'm scared to pick up the strix. My mivrocenters has 2 left.

Yes some are dying. Mine are still alive. It's worth the $139 for the two year replacement plan! I had an Asus dual die in just four hours of Valley looped! Full space invaders mode. I had to laugh but if it was beyond the 30 day return period I'd be pissed. And FWIW EVERY one of my 2080Ti samples have Micron memory. Only the Titan RTXs have Samsung. Not that it really matters.
I will say (the Strix) has the highest amount of coil whine in game menus. You know when the frame rate goes to a million fps and the inductors scream like a tree full of cicadas! It's not THAT bad but the sensitive types may prefer EVGA or MSI or FE types. The Strix board is custom and probably deviates furthest from FE samples than any other vendor. Kingpin avante garde types included!

Ok so the switch out of the box was in the performance mode. That explains the speeds I was getting. I flipped it to quiet mode and the fans don't run until the GPU gets 55C IIRC. While it's SILENT most of the time it's much warmer. Even so temps don't get higher than mid 60s when stressed. TBH I like the default BIOS position better. Even with the fans running all the time they're barely audible. And that's if you have a very low noise (<25dBA) system.

Of course what the performance freaks usually do is flash a BIOS with higher power limits and clocks. From what I understand this board has a lot of overhead.

Personally I would run my overclockable card at lower settings, they were probably binned to handle higher temperatures so I'd want to get longevity out of my $1400 investment.

With all the cards potentially having issues I tend to use the "drive it like you stole it" mentality to weed out potential failures before the vendor return period as RMAs take longer and don't always result in replacements that fix the issue as well. Some vendors don't have the most friendly RMA process as well.
