What is the best rechargeable battery for digital cameras?

Are you all digital camera owners use rechargeable batteries? Mine uses 4 AA's and doesnt last very long, howcome they consume some much power? This is unbelievable.

Monster brand rechargables are the best. The double AAs I use in my digital camera were like $19.99 each, and I had to get 4, but they really made the picture a lot sharper!

how does batteries make a picture sharper? interesting..

just get like 3 sets of rechargables.. should give you a lot of shots if you go on a trip or something.. then you can recharge them all in a few hours if you get a 1 hour charger.. under 1 hour if you get a 15 min enegerzier charger.. rayovac 1hr chargers are fairly cheap.. some batteries and a charger for like 20ish bucks.. a 4 pack of AA's cost about 13-14 at frys

Don't forget the monster usb cable from the camera. The transfer speed was twice as fast as the memory's theoretical read speed!

I got the one with platinum spinner connections. It's bling-transferrific!

😕

What about the Monster lens cleaning cloth? That makes the media go faster as well...

Best 49.99 I have spent in awhile...

Seriously, one of the things to look for in a camera before you buy it is the battery type...

Ones using lithium ion batteries will hold their charges longer...anything using AA or AAA batteries won't last nearly as long...on the flip side, if you are running low on batteries, you can duck into most any store and pickup some new ones right then and there...

my two cents...

Powerex's by Maha are very good batteries, however Energizer's NiMH batteries generally top the list. You
might want to make sure which type of Energizers these are, they may not be the same ones as the fast charge
or ones you find at Costco.. or they could be I haven't checked in a while. And I'll second Thomas-distributing, great
site.

I'm trying to find the Energizer NiMH rechargeable batteries 2500 mah with a rechargeable, but couldn't find it over amazon.com

Pffftt. Bang for the buck factor: Negative ten!

Maha gets my vote. Love the chargers and the batteries.

Besides that, Energizer that you purchase at your local Wally World are decent too.

Stick to 2200mAh or above.

You're most likely using straight Alks, which have a totally different power curve from Lithiums or rechargeables (Ni-MH). Over time as the amount of their charge goes down, alks lose their voltage as well, at 50% of their charge left they generally put out about 1.35v or so rather than the 1.5v they're rated at. Digital cameras especially are very picky about the voltage they'll run off, so once the batteries die down enough they simply stop working, even though you could pop them into a cassette walkman and they'd work great.

Stick to Lithiums or Ni-MH, my A95 gets over 300-350 shots per set of Lithiums, haven't tested it with rechargeables yet but I will soon.

OMFG! You actually pay over $8.00 for batteries for 350 pictures?

Try Sanyo NIMH rechargable batteries. I'm not sure what their capacity is at now, but it should be over 2400mah.
