I've been eyeballing this Antec SLK2600AMB in bronze.

Does anybody have any experience with this case? I have the Antec SX1040B for another system and I wonder how it compares?

I think the bronze is very cool and I think that a beige drive might not look bad in it. Not to mention that you can just close the door if you don't want to look at the drives. It doesn't break the bank either. It has an Antec 300w PS, so I think that would be just as good or better than what would come with the Evercase.

It does show backorder at Directron. I wonder who else might carry it and if they carry it for around the same price of $66 (plus shipping).

I'm still open for any and all suggestions..

Thanks again.

Sal

I was looking at the SLK2600AMB and I found it for 59.99 at Googlegear, but with hefty shipping (20 some dollars). It is also at Atacom.com for 59.99. It also makes me happy to see a cheaper case for a decent price. I think I'm going to look at that Evercase brand.

Compusa has the Antec SLK2600AMB for $69.99. It's $10 more then some of the on-line places but if you have one near by you it would be better then paying $20 for shipping.

I was just there last week looking for it and now it shows in stock in all the Chicagoland stores. I wonder if they just didn't have it quite yet.

I'll probably get this case. It meets all my requirements and I can pick it up locally. Besides, I can do a BVG with one of the online companies with my AMEX card.

Thanks again.

Well.. I just got back from my Comp USA tonight and they had one of the Antec SLK2600's on display. It's an attractive case for the money, but I was a little dissapointed with the "bronze" color. It didn't look bronze to me, but more like a silver/gray. If there is any bronze, it is so faint that I couldn't see it. Oh well. It's still a very nice case for the money and I've always liked the door to cover the drives.

Yeah, I saw the same thing. Maybe I'm not sure of what exactly "bronze" is supposed to look like. I'm thinking more along the lines of a brownish copper, but the Antec bronze as you say, looks like silver grey, closer to a pewter, so beige drives will still stick out like a sore thumb....:(
