All the memories are coming back now -- tweaking my config.sys and autoexec.bat (anyone remember LOADHIGH and DEVICEHIGH) om my superfast commodore 386SX-16mhz with 1 Mb ram / 40mb harddrive
and a vga card with a whopping 256kb. Wondering in the beginning what the difference was between expanded memory and extended memory
I think I spent the most time playing this MUD a when I was in high school/college. I loved C&C when it first came out, and I play Counter-Strike whenever I get the chance. I wish that I had the time and energy to play an online RPG again, like Dark Age of Camelot, but I must be getting old or something.
Nice, never played the game since it came out before I really got into computer games in a big way. Now my machine is too fast for it 🙁
This series of books by Raymond Fiest is incredible...though the stories written specifically about this game kinda sucked. Check out his other books though.
As for my favorite game of all time...has to be Doom II...the game that started the multiplayer fps craze for me.
