try pepcid, but you shouldn't use them too often, the acid in your stomach is good for killing germs at night, and reduce the chance of heart attacks.

first, go get a zantac... that is the very best over the counter you can get. Then, while taking the zantac, eat some yogurt and drink some milk. Drink the milk slow... but eat the hell out of some yogurt. walla, your cured.

At Costco and Sam's Club they have what is called "Acid Reducer" It is comparable to Zantac and is dirt cheap. If you don't belong to either of these clubs, have a friend who does get some for you.
They are jadinolf approved.

Ya, it sucks.....extended periods can cause esophageal cancer.

Cut down on fried foods and sodas and it will make a big difference. Also don't eat huge meals.

Zantac 150 is good for over the counter. I used to take it before it was over the counter, but I've had to move on to Nexium. Acid Reflux is horrible :(

It's this pink triangular pill. I forgot its name. My boss gave it to me once. Good stuff.

Pepcid Complete is the best. Contains an acid reducar that immediately neutralizes acid and then a long-acting formulation that decreases gastric secretions from the chief cells. Dont eat/drink acidic/spicey foods. Dont eat before bedtime give yourself a couple of hours. Dont laydown after eating. And for gods sake dont take any acid reducer that contains cimetidine it has some of the most severe/adverse drug interactions out of any drugs (its a major P450 enzyme inducer). Also if this is a constant thing see your doctor about possibly getting checked for heliobacter pylori (which is the main cause of gastric ulcers). U could also have a problem with your lower esophageal sphincter which in that case you could benefit from a proton pump inhibitor like nexium.

I get acid refulx a lot and the best OTC i found are the ones that foam up. i forgot thier name but my wife refuses to take them because on how bad they foam when they neutralize the acid.

oh and dont buy the brand name stuff. get the off brand, its the same fricken medicine and much cheaper, expecially for Zantac and Pepsid

i think that zantac is good.

i also think that citrix is referring to gaviscon, since that foams up.
